His Word, My Peace

Mark 4:35-39
"And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we preish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

There are times in our life that we feel like we are tossed to and fro like a ship in a storm. When we seek encouragement or direction from our family or friends, they might use the phrase "when you have done all then just stand." We might get a little frustrated with that because we feel that we do not have any solid ground to stand on as our life seems to be in complete turmoil. We speak to anyone looking for someone that will be able to speak a word of peace in our life or give us understanding as to why we are in such a trial. Perhaps someone might be able to relieve your anxiety for a while but once you are alone, you realize that your world is still unsettled and you feel like you will drown in this storm. It is especially frustrating and despairing when you feel that you are in the situation because you were being obedient to something God told you or because you stood on Biblical principles. There are times when you are in this type of storm that you feel too spiritually/emotionally paralysed to even pray. Today I want to give you a Word from the Lord. "Peace Be Still" When we fill our hearts and mind with the Word of God, it is the equivilent of having Jesus in the hinder parts of the ship. When fear comes, we bring out II Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" When sickness comes to our home we can bring out I Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: BY WHOSE STRIPES YOU WERE HEALED" When worry comes knocking we can use I Peter 5:7 "Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you."

It does not matter what the situation is, His Word says:"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." So seek His Word and His Peace is yours to claim.
